Fairbanks<\/a> announced it awarded grants to launch two new Industry Talent Associations (ITAs) to support the Indiana Career Apprenticeship Pathway (INCAP):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/indianaconstructionfoundation.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Indiana Construction Roundtable Foundation<\/a> was awarded a two-year, $380,000 grant to launch the<strong> Construction Industry Talent Association<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indianachamber.com\/about\/indiana-chamber-foundation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Indiana Chamber Foundation<\/a> was awarded a one-year, $160,000 grant to incubate the <strong>IT Industry Talent Association<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The organizations selected to run ITAs were chosen by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rmff.org\/our-work\/ilabindiana\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CEMETS iLab Indiana<\/a> industry members who traveled to Switzerland to observe peer employers that educate and train apprentices and adults. The new ITAs will play a critical role in developing and implementing INCAP by engaging employers in their industry, identifying talent needs, choosing occupations for INCAP programs, defining required knowledge and skills, and collaborating with educators to develop education and training materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leaders in construction believe that on-the-job experience is critical for students. According to Chris Price, president of the Indiana Construction Roundtable Foundation, \u201cThere\u2019s nothing like walking onto a job site in a pair of work boots and realizing you\u2019re already on track for a six-figure career \u2014 while still in high school. INCAP gives students real-world experience and opens their eyes to what\u2019s possible. It\u2019s exciting to see how scalable this program is and the impact it will have across the state of Indiana.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dennis Trinkle, leader of the IT Industry Talent Association, noted that he\u2019s particularly excited about the strong collaboration with industry, education, and community partners \u2014 a sign, he believes, that INCAP will significantly benefit Indiana\u2019s economy and workforce. \u201cIndiana&#8217;s economic future hinges on our ability to develop a robust, skilled workforce for the technology sector and for tech-powered roles across all sectors. INCAP provides an extraordinary opportunity to open meaningful career pathways for Hoosiers through apprenticeships and other forms of work-based learning,\u201d said Trinkle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new ITAs join four existing ITAs, which launched in 2024:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conexusindiana.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Conexus Indiana<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Banking \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/indiana.bank\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Indiana Bankers Association<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Healthcare \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/biocrossroads.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BioCrossroads<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Life Sciences \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/biocrossroads.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BioCrossroads<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of the industries expect to welcome their first INCAP apprentices in the fall of 2026.
