{"id":11491,"date":"2021-12-13T20:54:13","date_gmt":"2021-12-13T20:54:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rmff.org\/?p=11430"},"modified":"2025-12-05T18:36:46","modified_gmt":"2025-12-05T18:36:46","slug":"introducing-the-charitable-grants-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rmff.org\/ur\/2021\/12\/introducing-the-charitable-grants-program\/","title":{"rendered":"\u0686\u06cc\u0631\u06cc\u0679\u06cc\u0628\u0644 \u06af\u0631\u0627\u0646\u0679\u0633 \u067e\u0631\u0648\u06af\u0631\u0627\u0645 \u06a9\u0627 \u062a\u0639\u0627\u0631\u0641"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In&nbsp;2020,&nbsp;the Board established the Charitable Grants program to align with&nbsp;the interest of the Foundation\u2019s&nbsp;founder,&nbsp;Richard M. \u201cDick\u201d&nbsp;Fairbanks,&nbsp;in making small unrestricted grants to small organizations where these amounts could make a significant difference.&nbsp;While the bulk of the Foundation\u2019s&nbsp;philanthropic funding&nbsp;will continue to&nbsp;be allocated toward&nbsp;its three focus areas of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rmff.org\/our-work\/education\/\">\u062a\u0639\u0644\u06cc\u0645<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rmff.org\/our-work\/health\/\">\u0635\u062d\u062a<\/a>, \u060c \u0627\u0648\u0631&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rmff.org\/our-work\/vitality-of-indianapolis\/\">\u0627\u0646\u0688\u06cc\u0627\u0646\u0627\u067e\u0648\u0644\u0633 \u06a9\u06cc \u0632\u0646\u062f\u06af\u06cc<\/a>, the Charitable Grants program enables the Foundation to provide annual grants in the amount of $25,000&nbsp;per grantee&nbsp;to a rotating list of&nbsp;up to&nbsp;six (6) nonprofit organizations.&nbsp;This program, which went into effect in 2021,&nbsp;continues the Foundation\u2019s long history of charitable giving. Since its inception,&nbsp;the Foundation&nbsp;has&nbsp;awarded&nbsp;nearly $9.9 million&nbsp;in small&nbsp;charitable&nbsp;grants.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s how the new Charitable Grants program works.&nbsp;Each year, the Foundation&nbsp;identifies&nbsp;funding&nbsp;themes&nbsp;based on pressing needs&nbsp;in&nbsp;Indianapolis. These&nbsp;themes guide the selection of six&nbsp;Indianapolis organizations&nbsp;that&nbsp;are&nbsp;addressing&nbsp;these needs in our&nbsp;city.&nbsp;Organizations cannot apply to the Charitable Grants program, and the grants are&nbsp;awarded on a one-time basis.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During this&nbsp;inaugural&nbsp;year&nbsp;of program implementation,&nbsp;the Foundation&nbsp;focused&nbsp;on the following&nbsp;needs: (1) homelessness and housing instability;&nbsp;(2) racial&nbsp;inequity;&nbsp;(3) criminal justice and re-entry;&nbsp;and (4) food insecurity.&nbsp;The&nbsp;2021&nbsp;grant&nbsp;recipients&nbsp;are:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegrowingindygroup.com\/\">The&nbsp;Growing Indy Group<\/a>;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.immigrantwelcomecenter.org\/\">Immigrant Welcome Center<\/a>;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.indyhunger.org\/\">&nbsp;Indy Hunger Network<\/a>;<a href=\"https:\/\/mltoutreach.org\/\">&nbsp;Mackida&nbsp;Loveal&nbsp;&amp; Trip Mentoring Outreach Center<\/a>;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.trinityhavenindy.org\/\">Trinity Haven<\/a>;&nbsp;and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westmin.org\/\"> Westminster Neighborhood Services<\/a>.
